Did you know in February, roughly 12,000 Counterfeit UGGs were resold on eBay and thousands more on the internet? At the rate, that is one pair every 39 seconds!
Unfortunately, I did not know that either when I was purchasing my supposedly Authentic UGG Boots. After succumbing to the "UGG Craze," I finally told myself I would go ahead and buy a pair for myself, heck they are warm and popular why not get them? There came the problem, where was I going to get them? I was quite eBay savvy and I though I would turn to my favorite shopping venue to purchase them first. I always love more feedback, I searched eBay and found every color and size I could imagine. I finally found a good deal, heck they are all good deals, a beautiful pair of "Authentic UGG Chestnut Classic Tall: Size 8" The seller was a power seller, a eBay member for 5 years and had tons of positive feedback! Everything was great, I begin my bid war and settled for about $145.00 plus free shipping. I was pumped!
After patiently waiting six days to get my package, I excitedly opened it up and to my surprises there were my Authentic UGGs. But where they Authentic or Counterfeit? At the time, I had no idea if they were Counterfeit or Authentic, they looked beautiful and I thought I was official part of the UGG Trend! After wearing my quote on quote Authentic UGGs for about a week. I noticed they started to lose a lot of fur, wear out very quickly, and were generally not as durable and sturdy as everyone claimed them to be!Out of curiosity and research like most of you already doing now, I took my UGGs to our local Macys and compared them to store UGGs. OMG, nothing alike, different fur, different sole, different everything. I was upset, I paid retail for Counterfeit UGGs! Ecck, fake is never is fashion and I was not happy about this. In short: the seller was generous, gave me a full refund and return and was still professional, even though I know he knew he was selling 100% Counterfeit UGGs or Replica UGGs, whatever you want to call them! But I purchased through a store and not online, My UGGs are Authentic!I believed the same thing, so did a couple of college friends of mine here in Minneapolis. Where we live in the frigid cold nearly 24/7, we found a few small boutiques in downtown Minneapolis reselling UGGs that were sold as Brand New and when we asked about Authenticity they said it was gauranteed. Although they definately were not when we bought a pair and compared to a pair of Authentic UGGs. After doing more research, apparently this happens at alot of stores and departments around the US. If you do a quick search, you will hear all of the horror stories!
